Not too long ago I had surgery to replace my left knee. Now the right knee is demanding the same attention.
Therefore effective after 11-13-2009, I will be on sick leave. This leave will extend until January 21, 2009 , which is the beginning of the 3rd Quarter.
The long term sub that will be in my room is Mrs. Broman. This lady has much teaching experience and is endorsed in social studies. She has also subbed in my room this year.
You may contact her by using my email address at school and also my voice mail.
To make the transition a little easier, I am telling the students that any work that has been assigned by me for second quarter must be in no later than 11-13-2009. The only exception will be an extended absence. I really need to grade these papers as I told the students what the expectations were.
Thank you all for working with me during 1st Quarter, I will be back 3rd Quarter and look forward to again working with you and your child.
Barb Clawson
It seems that we are only a little distance into 2nd Quarter and there are numerous students with missing assignments.
I will be giving those students a list of missing assignments today.
I am going to tell students that I will not accept any of the following assignments after Friday 11-13-09. If there has been a prolonged absence during this period by a student, an exception MAY be made.
The assignments I will only be accepting until Friday are:
- Chapters 15-16 Questions — due 10-27
- 10-28 Breakdown words — due 10-28
- Chapters 17-19 Questions — due 10-29
- Chapters 20-23 Questions — due 11-5
In the past I have been correcting work from the very beginning of the quarter just before the quarter ends, this has not been a productive situation.
If you have any questions please contact me. clawsob@dpsd.org
