Summer seemed to have just flown by and it is time to get back to school!
Most of you will have had me in 7th grade social studies. The expectations in my classroom remain the same as well as the ability to use handwritten notes on tests.
Book covers will be required on textbooks. This doesn’t mean you need to rush out and buy one. Perhaps the most serviceable one is the one made from a LARGE paper grocery bag. If you don’t know how to make one, bring the bag to school and I will show you how to make it.
I will again post assignments on a weekly basis so that you can keep aware of assignments. Students are encouraged to keep their planners current on a daily basis and when they enter the room the day’s assignment will be on the screen.
On Monday’s I will pass around a grade sheet that will show your child’s current Civic’s grade and any missing assignments.
Please remember when you check grades on line, that if a “*” appears, it means assignment has not been graded yet. However if there is a “0″, then assignment is missing.
When you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. Email is clawsob at dpsd.org. Phone is 464.5821.
Thank you in advance for your support and assistance in helping your child learn about our government and how it works.

I know students (and parents) are anxious to get theirs back and see how they did. However there has been a slight glitch–they are taking much longer to correct than I had anticipated.
At the time of my writing this, Sunday at about 1:30 pm, only about 60% are done.
Therefore it will be next week before they are all corrected and returned.
Thank you in advance for your patience with me.

Unfortunately this event is fast approaching. Seems like just yesterday that we were welcoming students for the new school year, and, now, it is almost over.
MANY students have missing assignments that are adversely affecting their grades. I am still accepting missing assignments. However the last day I will accept any late/missing work will be May 26, 2010.
This will give me adequate time to correct and get grades ntered into the computer gradebook.
If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me.
